This a reputable 1 amp plug in transformer to power your keypad, card, or fingerprint access controllers, readers, and electric locks. The model offered here is 24 Volt AC. Be sure the electric strike, keypad, or maglock accepts this voltage. AC current creates a louder buzz sound and is most commonly used in situations to indicate to the person at the door it's ok to push or pull on the door to open. With DC current, when the electric strike or maglock 'fires', the 'buzz' sound is nearly non-existent, typically no more than a light click is heard. For smaller, 1 or 2 door systems, and especially when using electric strikes, we recommend DC current. DC current over time preserves the shelf life of an electric strike.
