The new E-Plex 5870 access controller addresses an important security need at Government facilities, Military bases, essential service stations, and all sites where personnel carry FIPS 201 compatible US Government smart cards.  With mechanical keyed-in locks no longer serving today's security and accountability requirements, along with newly announced HSPD-12 security clearance directives, you may be tasked with transitioning your site to card access control that must articulate with your existing FIPS 201 Government smart cards.  The limited selection of these systems however only proves to make the search frustrating, and what does exist exceeds a majority of budgets because it's the same old costly to install and implement wire-based panel systems.  Enter in the E-Plex 5800, the fastest growing solution in the market for meeting the security clearance requirements set forth by homeland security directive HSPD-12.  The stand-alone 5870 card access control system makes its decisions at the device thus by-passing the need for panels, features pre-drilled design for fast single gang box or wall mounting, and offers you LearnLok™ programming, as well as optional software to help you get up and running fast and make maintaining the system easy.  When an individual presents their PIV, CAC, FRAC, TWIC, or PIV-I US Government smart card, the E5870 controller validates the users Personal Identity Verification authentication certificate before granting access. This includes validating it, confirming no one revoked it, and ensuring its issuance originated from a trusted source.  With the E-Plex 5870, you achieve regulatory compliance by deploying a powerful card system to restrict access, schedule access, track entries, report on events, and manage users and doors.
