No need to spend thousands outfitting your fire barrier doors with automatic door closers when you can simply combine a standard mechanical closer with this Rixson 996 electromagnetic door holder & door release. With the Rixson 996 door release, any time the fire alarm goes off, power will be cut to this door holder, releasing the door so it can be shut with the mechanical door closer. When you start adding up the number of smoke and fire barrier openings in your church, theater, or office building, you can easily see how this is a more economical way of ensuring you meet code. The Rixson 996 door release is only to be used in conjunction with a mechanical non hold-open door closer. We offer several to choose from at checkout. Most of your meeting rooms, congregation areas, or spaces within a building where people gather, will contain many of these openings where fire and smoke is contained by the door. The Rixson 996 electromagnetic door holder and door release is also quite frequently used on private office doors, or any other entrances into areas where people come and go throughout the day, but that in the event of a break-in, or emergency, must be secured. The burglar alarm can be wired to the Rixson 996 to release the door on the alarm being tripped. This way the door to the IT room, supply closet, conference room, and manager office(s) will be locked, possibly preventing sensitive equipment from being vandalized, or critical and private information from being stolen.
