Today's Z-Wave networks are a far cry from those created by the first home automation hubs of a few years ago, but depending on the home and devices, are still not without their weak points.  It's why this savvy-designed range extender is a must for anyone wanting superior performance of their Z-Wave system.  Made by Aeon Labs, a true pioneer in quality Z-Wave devices and sensors, the Aeotec DSD37 Extender captures Z Wave communication, and then accurately redistributes it to other Z-Wave devices in your network.  All done while amplifying the signal to boost reliability, and all done in milliseconds.  All you need is an available outlet to plug repeater into.  It will do the rest.  In our experience hubs and controllers must be placed closer to Z-Wave locks than any other Z-Wave devices.  If you are unable to be in close proximity to your locks be sure to use this range extender.

Home Automation is a style of living. It is about always being connected to the home you love. These systems* allow you to control your connected home devices such as door locks, thermostats, lights, motion sensors, cameras, water sensors, and more, all remotely from a computer or smartphone.

*Also works with Samsung SmartThings, Wink, Iris, ADT Pulse, Alarm.com, Honeywell, HomeSeer, LG Smart Security, Staples’ Connect, Harmony by Logitech, and many more.

As we do not sell that system we cannot say other than it is a basic Z-wave extender and will work within the Z-wave Alliance required connectivity for devices within Z-wave.

  2. Answered by the admin

This acts as another device within the mesh network, easy to add in and pair so it will expand the network at less cost than having to purchase a whole new item. It also allows you to fill in gaps where you may not be able to install an always-on device.

  3. Answered by the admin

This is designed to work with a Z-wave system. Alexa is an Amazon device and not a Z-wave hub. If you have a Z-wave hub connected to your Alexa system this will pair in with the Z-wave system you have already. If you do not have a Z-wave system you should speak with our residential home automation department and they will help you choose the best system to meet your needs.

  6. Answered by the admin This device simply enhances your z-wave signal in your system. It can be paired with any z-wave hub that you have or decided to use to control your locks.
  7. Answered by the admin Z-Wave extenders amplify your Z-Wave network in your environment. Because Z-Wave is a mesh network the more devices you add the stronger your network becomes. Due to this concept, the extender will aid in strengthening your signal/communication of your network as a whole.
