Detex Everyone remembers from their school days what could happen if you didn't line up, or enter one at a time.  You could get hurt, someone else could get trampled on, and you were looked at as cheating the system.  In the grown-up world of access control, breaking the policy of one at a time when entering or exiting through a secured opening creates its own set of consequences, most of which are not something any business wants to deal with.  Both an intentional, and covert practice called tailgating, it defeats the purpose of a card entry system where only the individual presenting their card to the door reader is authorized passage.  As anyone who has worked at a company which uses cards and/or ID badges will tell you, these credentials are fine for restricting access into certain areas of the building, but they are self-limiting in being able to control how many people can go through the door once it's opened.  The good news is in this situation an employee is usually letting other employees in on their card as a function of convenience.  The bad news is that someone who is not an employee could piggyback their way in, or someone posing as an employee.  For doors where tighter security is required, an attacker could also be standing off to the side waiting to covertly enter on an employee's card read.  Apart from putting a manned guard at each door, you can ensure only one individual enters a controlled doorway for each card read, by installing the Detex AT-5200 anti-tailgating and anti-piggybacking device.  A tailgate detection system, the Detex AT-5200 mounts easily to standard door frames, features a subtle design which does not distract from interior aesthetics, and is an effective optical security system, which uses unique algorithms and infrared sensor beams to detect tailgating.  In short, if you are concerned about another employee, visitor, or intruder getting through one or more of your doors where you require cards, the Detex AT-5200 tailgate detection system is a unique and impressive edge unit for curtailing improper access and signaling a breach.  Employee entrances, computer rooms, bank vaults, dorm entrances, and areas with restricted access represent a small number of the nearly unlimited potential applications for the AT-5200.  It has the ability to increase the security level of virtually any access control system.
