Stand-alone residential (or light office) fingerprint access control system employing sophisticated biometry. Residential access control is managed using a person's biological characteristics. Instead of the key being on you, you are the 'key.' Until now, entry to the home has been granted with a conventional door key, and not the individual authorized for using the key. Anyone could have the key, and if they do, they are getting into your residence. In an increasingly chaotic and more disorderly world, this traditional method of access can no longer provide the required level of security. Totally safe, and weather resistant, eKey Home eliminates the risks and burdens brought on by keys. eKey Home is an enjoyable biometric identification system that brings increased security to your home because access is traceable to one person. The unique technology developed by eKey Biometric Systems GmbH in Linz, Austria, is a proprietary system which eKey owns and is always improving upon. When you choose eKey Home, you are choosing one of the best finger scan technologies. Scanned images cannot be reconstructed, or regenerated. Your finger scans are stored as an encoded and encrypted electronic key. This strengthens the level of protection. eKey Home is not recommended for applications where 24/7 access is not allowed. eKey Net systems are available for time-determined access. eKey Home is sold as a set consisting of one fingerprint Scanner with 99 fingerprint template capacity; one Standard Control Unit; and one 9VAC power adapter. You can set this up on virtually any hinged door and get started enrolling user's fingerprints in under an hour's time. All you do is wire the interior control unit (can be up to 600 feet away) to the exterior scanner, and then wire an electric strike or mag lock to the control unit. eKey Home itself is not a door lock. It is a set consisting of an outside unit (scanner), and an inside unit (controller), along with a power supply. The outside scanner unit is for enrolling and identifying users. The inside controller unit is for managing relay switches. Think of a relay switch as an on/off switch. This means using the same, or different finger to gain entry through your door, you can control the garage door, arm/disarm your security system, activate a silent alarm, and control any external device which is operated by an on/off switch. The included power supply is for the controller unit. You'll want to use a separate power supply, such as our plug in power supply for your electric strike.

As for the install, we highly recommend that you use a qualified electrician for any hardwired setup. The eKey is designed to work with any electric strikes or magnetic locks. The issue is more about your doors and the locks on them with what strikes will work.
