We would recommend the single-sided Lockey 2210 for this feature so that no code is required from the inside. This model can also be left unlocked when desired as it will need to be manually locked after opening.

This lock can be manually locked from either side of the door. However, the key override is only present on the exterior unit.

Typically, these locks would come keyed directly from the manufacturer as Lockey uses a proprietary keyway for their key overrides. Because of this, the 2210 lock can be keyed alike to other Lockey units when ordered but would not be able to be keyed to a standard Schlage/Kwikset key.

Much of what is needed will depend on your current setup. For most setups, a drill and screwdriver are necessary, however, before purchasing we would highly recommend you speak with our gate and fence department to ensure you are getting the best product for your needs.

The product features say there are 8000+ possible 3-5 character codes. But there are only 2288 UNIQUE codes, since the order of the characters doesn’t matter. We may think there’s a difference between codes 1-2-3 and 3-2-1, but a criminal trying to guess the code only has to try one of them. I won’t bore you with the math, but locks where the combination ordering doesn’t matter, like this one, are more vulnerable to brute force attacks (i.e. trying every possible combination) than one might think after reading the features.
