Key override only allows for 3.5". You will need the extension kit in order to accomplish this, please see the link provided.

Yes you can do this however, doing such will void the warranty on the lock as it actually causes undue pressure on the spindle which will cause it to break over time.

I recently purchased this lock. It’s small and looks very nice on my gate door. Note that this is a handle not deadbolt. It only accepts 4 digits codes, and to change the code you need to dis-assemble the lock. Still I love it though, as the quality and look seems very nice, and it does what I needed.
