  1. Wish I installed this years ago.

    Lew (verified owner)

The gate closer works beautifully, closing the gate with enough force to gently engage the spring-loaded latch. No more slamming. It worked so well on the exterior gate that I bought another one for the pool gate. Very easy installation and adjustment for closing force.

easy to install and works just fine. Has only been a couple of weeks and not hard use. Will revise my review if anything changes.

  3. Nice but short service life

    John (verified owner)

This gate closer is compact, sleek, and easy to install. The problem is that it just doesn’t last very long. Within months the closer starts to act up, and shortly afterward it fails. I have tried 4 of these closers and they all failed in less than a year.

  4. Good Gate Closer

    Francis Green (verified owner)

I bought two gate closers and they are functioning as expected. I see some rusting around screws. Overall, I believe these gate closers meet my expectations. I am satisfied.

It is working perfectly. Before installing it on the gate, the gate was always left open. Now it is always secure. The description you have about the closer on your website is spot on and it does everything you said it will do.

I recently purchased 2 TB175 gate closers. The customer support was outstanding’ answering all my questions clearly. I received the product in the time stated when I placed the order. My customer need a closer that would work on the bottom half of a dutch door. They are completely satisfied with the product as well am I.

  9. Harry Smith from Peninsula Yacht Club, North Carolina

We here at the Peninsula Yacht Club love the gate closures. However we have one that did not last a full year’ possibly a defect. Is there any way to have this closure warranted?

Great concept’ but not so good on execution. Bought it to meet self-close requirements for a cedar fence gate with pool access. The damper mechanism was such’ that no matter what the adjustment’ it would slow the gate closing to the point that it would not quite latch. Even added two tension spring closers to the gate to assist with the gate weight (8 foot tall cedar gate). Following the recommended way to adjust the closer (hold open – quarter turn at a time’ close gate – quarter turn at a time to adjust) made no noticeable difference in operation at all. Still the damper would slow the gate’ and it would never quite latch closed. Had to take it off’ and just let the tension springs close the gate. Think the fault is in the lack of enough built-in adjustment.

Customer Questions & Answers

  1. A

These are push closers, we would recommend you speak with our fence and gate specialist in order to asses your needs and to recommend the best closer to fit your gate.

  2. A
Yes, the gate closer both ensures that the gate closes and that it does not slam shut.
  3. A

Not on the closer itself but you can block or stop the gate in any method you choose.

  4. A

This closer is designed primarily for residential usage. It is recommended for commercial use to go to the TB-200 at minimum. To make sure you choose the correct closer for your gate make sure you use the chart listed in the features tab.

  5. A

Unfortunately these closers are designed to push a gate or door closed and not for pulling. You would need to go with a traditional door closer but that would not be recommended on a gate unless you can cover it from the weather. The other option would be to use spring loaded hinges to pull the door closed.

  6. A

Yes. As long as your gate post and gate is flush you should be fine.
