Depends on the application. The max weight capacity is 125lbs for the gate or door. If you unsure if this works with your application you can contact [email protected] for more information.

This closer does not have a lock function. You will need to install a separate locking device on the gate for it to be secured. The TB175 simply ensures that the gate will close automatically after being opened.
- Q Does this closer provide resistance when opening the gate? I am installing a gate along the side ... answer nowAsked by December 16, 2021 8:38 PMonA
This model does offer low resistance for opening the gate. We would recommend using this in conjunction with a latch so that there is no way for the gate to swing open during high winds.

Yes, this will certainly work if the closer is mounted on the interior side of the gate.

This model does offer a hold-open feature where, when active, the gate can be opened past 90 degrees and the gate will be held open until pushed in. When the gate is open less than 90 degrees, the gate will shut automatically. However, if there is more force added to close the gate, this can override the hold open and simply cause the gate to continue to close. In this case, it is likely the self-closing hinges causing this to occur.

A gate closer would not be a great resolution to a rattling gate. For this issue, we would recommend a different style of latch if this is what is causing the rattling (such as the Lockey SUMO). If the rattling is coming from the gate itself hitting the posts, we would recommend using a bit of outdoor foam tape to prevent this from causing further noise.

For this type of gate, we would recommend a more commercial-grade closer that can support the additional weight, such as a TB400. Please contact our sales department for more options that will best suit your application at 937-247-9327, option 1!

This closer is primarily used on lighter gate applications and is meant to slowly close the gate rather than having it 'slam' shut.

This works better than I thought it would. It stands open at 90 degrees if you want it to, you don’t have to do anything but open it to that point. And closes with the exact right force to latch the gate. Better than I expected. I recommend it.

I have tried other gate closer and the just were not quite enough nir closed once entering or exiting. Then I found the Lockey gate closer. I was very please with the gate closer, it performed as the product stated it would. IAs a matter of I jus reordered the same product for another gate. The gate has the right amount of tension and has a soft cllsed, not loud at all and it has a nice sleek look to it not bulky looking.

It works great, but it’s already starting to rust after six weeks.

Works really well at first, but after two months the slow closing function stop working, despite re-setting it so many times.

I wanted our new fence gate to close automatically so that it was not left opened for the dog to run out. This is fairly heavy duty which is nice. The door closes very slowly but has no release at the end like a screen or storm door closer would. Since it does not release the speed is not fast enough to latch the door closed. This is a bit disappointing but I still like this closer. I had to 3d print a spacer for my gate as the hinge and door are not on the same plane. I have also noticed that there is a bit of rusting even though I have only owned this for a few months. All in all, I am still happy with how it is working. If they fix the door so that it closes and latches that would be great. If I happen across a different brand that does latch the door I would probably switch this one out.
