The Wireless Nano Router from TP- Link can act as a standalone router, a range extender or even as a client for devices that need to be hardwired in order to have an internet connection. If you have a single drop point in your house for internet and it's too far away from your front door for a Z-Wave Gateway to reach the lock, put the Gateway right by the door with the Wireless Nano Router and never worry about communications to your Z-Wave devices again.

You plug it into a wall outlet that is on the same circuit as your router and they connect as long as you are using the tp-link kit.
