Looking to use voice commands to lock your door with Amazon Alexa?  Simply pair the Yale wireless lock to the VeraPlus controller and then enable the Vera skill inside the Alexa app. Speak “Alexa, lock the front door” to your Amazon Echo or Dot, and Vera will lock the door.  Cool part is you can add electronic switches, Z-Wave LED bulbs, remote control outlets and other devices to create groups in Alexa for automating certain routines you manually do every day, like turning the lights off and locking the doors when you go to bed at night.

Overall satisfied; disappointed by the difficulty to program additional codes.

Also, unsuccessful at obtaining the “correct” iPhone app.

  3. Works like it should!

    Derek (verified owner)

I had already used these Yale locks as part of a Smartthings smarthome we’d set up in another house so I knew they worked well, and these are no exception. The pricing was good and the locks arrived quickly (great job GoKeyless!) and in perfect shape! No complaints and I will be ordering a couple more of these from GoKeyless soon!

We love the keyless entry I’m not sure why we didn’t do this before. We also got Ring Central and that’s awesome as well.

Customer Questions & Answers

  1. Answered by the admin

This can be used for commercial applications but this model is only a deadbolt that is typically used for residential doors.

  2. Answered by the admin

All three doors can certainly have the same access codes. This lock does feature a battery backup in the event that the primary power is drained. However, because there is no manual override key, there is no way to forcibly open the lock in the event of a mechanical failure.

  3. Q Can this be mounted outside on a security gate prone to weather? answer now
Asked by Larry Deuschel on August 5, 2020 11:36 AM
    Answered by the admin

The interior unit for this model is not weather rated and is not recommended for gate applications.

  4. Q Can this lock work with nest ? answer now
Asked by Larry Deuschel on August 5, 2020 11:35 AM
    Answered by the admin

This model cannot connect with the Nest system. For a Nest compatible model, please see the YRD540!

  5. Answered by the admin

The autolocking feature can be disabled within the settings so that when a code is entered, the device will not automatically lock again allowing free access until the device is secured.

  6. Q Will this work with Google Home? answer now
Asked by Tony on June 28, 2020 5:59 PM
    Answered by the admin

Yes, this lock is compatible with Google Home.

  7. Q What if you lose power how does the lock work? answer now
Asked by Michael m sands on May 9, 2020 5:55 PM
    Answered by the admin

This lock operates off of AA batteries and does feature a 9v emergency power tap in the event that the batteries are drained.

  8. Answered by the admin

This lock only supports scheduling if it is paired to a SmartHub or a similar device. (Such as Vera)

  9. Q Do I Need a WiFi set up nearby? answer now
Asked by John White on March 30, 2020 7:21 PM
    Answered by the admin

Wi-Fi is not needed for this lock. However, you will need to have the lock connected to a Z-Wave controller in order to manage the lock remotely.

  10. Answered by the admin

As long as the Z-Wave controller/software that you are using is integrated with Yale product, you will certainly be able to add codes through your Z-Wave service remotely!
