Looking to use voice commands to lock your door with Amazon Alexa?  Simply pair the Yale wireless lock to the VeraPlus controller and then enable the Vera skill inside the Alexa app. Speak “Alexa, lock the front door” to your Amazon Echo or Dot, and Vera will lock the door.  Cool part is you can add electronic switches, Z-Wave LED bulbs, remote control outlets and other devices to create groups in Alexa for automating certain routines you manually do every day, like turning the lights off and locking the doors when you go to bed at night.

What others are saying

  1. Not one complaint

The title says it all… This is simply a great smart lock! The satin finish is modern and clean. Installation is a breeze. I integrated the lock into my ADT alarm system and utilize it to disarm my system when I enter the code on the lock’s keypad.

  3. Good Product Overall, But...

    Aaron V (verified owner)

We sought out Z-wave deadbolts and lever locks to control with our Ring devices, and the Yale products stood out for their clean, modern appearance and relatively compact form factor. Competitive products are (in some cases) much bulkier and have a dated appearance. On the flip side, some competitive products have a higher security grade.

Now, we were very pleased with a Yale Assure deadbolt that we received while we waited (and waited) for a couple of these lever locks to arrive.

To use, the biggest drawback to installing these devices was that they did not include optional parts. We had to work with Yale directly to obtain a drive-in latch for one of these lever locks, as they do not include one (or a conversion kit) in the box. The same is true for the strike plates; only one version is provided, so you’d be out of luck if you wanted a square-corner plate. Competitors provide all of these optional parts in the box. Fortunately, Yale’s support team helped us out, and we were able to get these levers installed.

Note: We did have to do some additional drilling of existing holes, as Yale’s products are ever-so-slightly larger than other brands. We also had to make a few quick adjustments to get them to cleanly operate without binding. But they’ve been performing well since then.

I also found it interesting that the Yale products take (4) AA batteries, as opposed to the single 9V battery found in our other devices.

In the end, with a little patience, we got exactly what we expected.

  4. Happy with product but......

    Wm Woodward (verified owner)

There are limited touch panel lever locks available that have z wave technology and especially z wave plus. While I am happy with the product: the app does not allow me to program in ‘codes’. that appears to be done only from the keyboard of the device. The app does allow you to lock and unlock the door. Generally pleased. Just wish I could do more with the app.

Customer Questions & Answers

  1. Answered by the admin

You will need to physically use your phone to unlock the door with the app that you have attached to it.

  2. Q Is this a wifi lock; can I change codes remotely? answer now
Asked by Karen on February 20, 2023 2:25 PM
    A

Yes, this lock can communicate via Z-Wave. You can use a compatible app to create codes remotely as long as you have a Z-Wave controller.

  3. Q Does this lock work with ADT? How about Alexa? answer now
Asked by Isabel on February 8, 2023 1:34 PM
    Answered by the admin

The YRL226-ZW2 is compatible with ADT Pulse and Alexa.

  4. Q Can this lock arm and disarm my ring alarm system? answer now
    Asked by benjamin.ng25 on January 14, 2023 9:28 PM
    A

While this lock is compatible with Ring Alarm systems, I do not believe that it can set the alarm system to arm or disarm from the lock's keypad alone.

  5. Answered by the admin

This lock is designed to operate on the U.S. standard Z-Wave frequency and will only operate properly with a hub that is also set to U.S frequency. However, once installed, you would be able to control the lock from anywhere that you have an internet connection. If the lock will be installed in another country, you would need to purchase a lock that operates on the correct frequency for that region.

  6. Answered by the admin

This lock will require a Ring Alarm to be able to pair the lock to your Ring app.

  7. A

Aut0-relock can be disabled so this lock will remain unlocked.

  8. Q Can the backset be adjusted to 5"? answer now
Asked by hubert on February 6, 2022 12:57 PM

  9. Q Is this lever considered commercial? answer now
Asked by Anthony on December 8, 2021 12:04 AM

This model is one of Yale's residential keypad levers. For the commercial version, you will want the Yale NexTouch NTB620.
