First I was impressed with the high quality of the mechanical design. It was well engineered and looked and felt very solid and it all assembled into the box easily. I have two issues on the not so positive side; 1. The small Philips screws on the plate that hides the pin were easy to damage unless you use the exact right size Philips screw driver. This was annoying but since it probably will not be changed again I was able to reuse the damaged screw. 2. More importantly I notice that the lock does not relock itself unless the knob is turned all the way open. I can unlock the gate and close the gate and then reopen the gate without reentering the code. In my application this is not so important but it may be a serious problem if the gate were guarding a swimming pool or something else that poses a danger. Bottom line the lock serves my application (side gate) well. Martin

The 2230DC lock was a great fix for us. We had a keyed system, college students, and a major headache with lost keys. The installation was easy, the lock is heavy duty, and easy to change combinations. Well worth the money!  Mike from South Carolina

Each time your gate or door shuts behind you it will automatically re-lock itself because of the deadlocking cylindrical latch.  The Lockey 2230DC dual-sided lock functions great as an entry lock, condo gate lock, pool gate lock, parking lot gate lock, play area gate lock, and garden gate lock.  Keyless lock accepts the same or different combination codes on each side.  The upgradeable key override model will ship keyed on one side only for you - you may install the keyed side on the outside or inside.
