    LUX (CAMERA)

When you see this term used in describing a security camera, it refers to the amount of light required for the camera to generate a clear image. Defined, Lux is a metric for measuring the amount of light that falls on an object. The lower the Lux rating (or number), the less light required. Generally speaking, a reputable security camera with a Lux rating of 1.0, is going to be suitable for recording in light conditions similar to those seen just before sunrise, or just after sunset. A security camera with a Lux rating of 0.1, generally will suffice in capturing quality video under conditions similar to a lighted parking lot at night.
