What others are saying

  1. Exactly what we needed

    Dawne Richards (verified owner)

This wasn’t the easiest lock to install but it was well worth the struggle. It’s exactly what we needed; it looks great and so far is performing well.

  2. Hannelore

The basic product was great however, we were not advised that we had to obtain a cylinder to override the numbers in case of ermergency. That was a little tricky since we live in a very small community in British Columbia and these things are not easily obtained. BUT we prevailed and all is well now and our camp host is happy – no more leaving ordinary keys with the customers.

  3. Stirling, Midland, TX

We recently installed two keyless locks, and we love them. They work great and have eliminated the need to carry keys everywhere.

Customer Questions & Answers

  1. A

This is an always locking latch that whenever the door is closed it will remain locked until a code or key is used to enter but once the door closes it will be locked again.

  2. A Yes, the spanner wrench does come with the purchase of a new lock.
  3. Q why aren't batteries needed? answer now
Asked by Nelson on September 25, 2017 4:02 PM
This is a mechanical lock that uses no power. Everything is done via mechanical functions.
  4. A

No, you cannot lock out the code with a key. You would need to go to an electronic lock with scheduling features that would allow you to lock out codes at certain times.

  5. Q Can the key knob on this model be changed to a lever handle? answer now
Asked by Bob lessard on April 28, 2017 1:09 PM

It cannot be changed in the field, however we offer this same lock with the lever. Check out the Simplex L1021B.

  6. Q Do you have the button reset/ change reprogram key? answer now
Asked by steve pickett on December 23, 2016 1:22 PM

Yes we do carry the DF-59 keys and spanner wrench to change the codes on simplex 1000 series locks.
