To Change the Batteries on the SmartCode 909:
1. Remove the two screws located on the sides of the interior cover and slide this upward to expose the programming button.
2. Slide the black battery holder located at the top of the unit upward to remove this from the lock.
3. Exchange the batteries with a fresh set and slide the holder back into the lock.
4. Reinstall the sliding cover and fasten the two screws to hold the cover in place. These steps can be performed while the lock is installed. The battery cover will require a small amount of force to slide it upward as it clips into place.

The best childproofing for this kind of situation would be a double-sided keypad so that a code is needed to exit and to enter. For this model, if the child is tall enough to reach the manual knob, they may be able to unlock the deadbolt.
- Q Does the lock have a limit of times to try? I appear to be “locked out” after entering the wrong ... answer nowAsked by April 11, 2020 8:56 PMonA
If three incorrect codes are entered within one minute, the lock will enter a 'lockout' state and deny all access for 60 seconds.

You will need to press the lock button on the keypad to secure the door.
- Q Can I program this to match the other Kwikset door lock keys on our home? answer nowAsked by January 18, 2020 10:21 AMonA
This lock can be programmed to accept the same codes as your other doors. If you would like your current manual key to operate this lock as well, the unit will need to be rekeyed prior to shipping.

Professionally installed last year. Works great when it’s working, but good luck when it’s time to change the batteries. Followed the user manual exactly in the MULTIPLE INTRICATE steps required to reset and re-oriente the lock and add/delete/reset codes and it won’t work. A rubik’s cube is simpler. Calling a locksmith Monday, probably going to throw it in the trash and get a simple fool proof manual deadbolt. Another example of how technology only complicates our lives.

Excellent product, easy to install, just follow the directions step-by-step! Really is nice not to have to carry keys around and wonderful for the neighbors to use when they have to watch the house while I’m traveling for business. Don’t have to worry about losing the key.

I needed 2 Kwikset Smart Key sets. I went to Lowe’s. They did not have the Antique Bronze in stock but thought they could get it in 4-6 weeks. So I got online and found you guys. In three days I had my lock sets and at a price lower than Lowe’s. Thanks for the good service.

The service was great and we love the lock! It makes life so much easier because I have a condo away from our primary residence and I got tired of dealing with keys every time someone needed to get in.

I am a homebuilder and we have used similar types of locking systems for our homes. We really like the SmartCode lock by GoKeyless. It functions smoothly and can secure our houses better than any key could. We use it at our personal home, rather than leaving a key under the mat or under a rock. This is a great way to secure a home.
