Customer Questions & Answers
- Q How do you get in if you don’t have your keys and the battery died? answer nowAsked by May 19, 2021 9:23 PMonA
The manual override keys are the only way to unlock the door if the batteries are completely drained. If you do not have access to the manual keys, we would recommend contacting a local locksmith to assist with gaining entry through this door.
- Q Will this lock work on outside entry doors exposed to direct weather and with an exit push bar? answer nowAsked by August 27, 2020 8:06 AMonAnswered by the admin
The solid one-piece Zinc Alloy body is IP65 rated and completely waterproof and dustproof. Ideal for both indoor and outdoor installation, but may not work with a panic bar. Contact one of our knowledgable staff for more information!

The UL3BT gives you BLE connectivity to control the lock from a smartphone or other bluetooth device. Both models are IP65 rated for great outdoor weather resistance.

The lock does require an Admin code to be set before any programming can be done on the device. Once this is set, the admin code will be needed for any further programming.

No, this has basic programming. Anything more indepth you would need a commercial lock with software and programming such as a DL2800.
- Q Is this lock suitable for seaside locations - i.e. potential corrosion from sea salt spray? answer nowAsked by February 2, 2019 11:00 PMonA
Salt air is going to be difficult for any lock but these have additional fingerprint readers that cannot handle that type of exposure. It is not recommended for direct contact with salt water as it will hurt the fingerprint sensor.
- Q Can you change the entrance code even if you are not near the door? answer nowAsked by January 10, 2019 4:39 AMonA
You must be within Bluetooth range in order to interface with the lock. It does not have a remote capability.

The lock is rated for -70C for the exterior portion and up to 55C on the interior portion of the lock. We always recommend that a weather guard is used in such extreme conditions as it does help improve the life of the lock and to keep the fingerprint reader clear of any snow and ice.

It would depend on if you can download and properly use the appropriate user app for the lock. Many apps are designed for phone only use so it would depend on first if the app is available on iTunes and second if it will work with a MacBook. The only way to find out would be for you to download it onto your MacBook to see if it will operate if it is even available to do so from iTunes.
Symantha –
We were happy with this product for our office setting so we could offer multiple options for entry to our office to different folks, but still maintain full control over who was accessing the door.

When purchasing, there’s no info stating that there’s no way to lock/unlock door without batteries.
And sometimes goes to “passage” from. “Normal” without anyone knowing when code is entered

Had 2 of these installed. The unlock plunger on one of them would not unlock, the other one wouldn’t lock! When they did for for the few months they were functioning they would eat batteries like crazy. The LCD screen was very hard to view in direct sunlight.
Steer Clear!

Bought this one when I bought my new house and still works great. Don’t need to think about keys. Also their customer service is quick on call.

I like the look of the product. It does have a few flaws. We use this door knob at an office.
It does not like to connect with the app on my phone very easily. I practically have to be standing next to it to get it to connect in a timely manner. It does not offer a way to manually lock the door from the inside. I feel that it uses way too much battery life. I’ve changed the batteries 2 times since installation about 5 weeks ago. We knew a bridge would have to be bought to make this work remotely. While we had no plans to purchase one, we did after the fact for remote management.

Don’t be fooled into buying this if you are trying to do remote management for short term rentals.
I have two rooms with these locks. You must purchase add’l equipment (bridge) to use remotely via wi-fi.
1) Connecting remotely is very unreliable.
2) Temporary users can only be setup with real emails (not virtual emails like guest Airbnb emails) and there is no ability to setup temporary users with a unlock code number. This makes it impossible to automatically delete guests access at checkout time.
So, for short term rentals, a major pain in the neck to log in remotely (and hopefully connect, cross your fingers) to add users with a code and then you must log in again to manually delete each user when they checkout because you can’t schedule the code to expire.
I will replace at my first opportunity.

We started with 1 on the most used door. The fingerprint feature works great for me, but some of our employees (over 75) have trouble with the finger print option. Granted they work in temperatures up to 115 degrees at the marina, so cleanliness is not priority when heading home. We have expanded to 3 more doors. The ease of adding deleting employees is important in our seasonal environment It cuts down on lost keys. The I pad app is easy to use, with a log of use, and an unlock feature. Good Battery Life.

I have purchased several fingerprint locks before and this one is the best so far. It looks good and feels very solid. I can track logs who from smartphone app.

Looks great, easy to install. Not reliable, prone to fail. I have 5 of these and have replaced 4 of them, at least once, in the first 6 months. Bluetooth does not work well and it takes several days to get a replacement. Not a good choice if you need reliable access control. One replacement was clearly a used unit, the others appeared new.
