Architecture & Database

• Server/Client based, runs either in Standalone mode on a single PC or in a networked environment on a server PC and multiple client PCs
• Robust SQL based database using encryption to protect and manage securely all E-Plex user-lock related system database

Capabilities

• Easily manages up to 3,000 users per lock; unlimited users in the database
• Maintains up to 30,000 audit events in each lock including emergency mechanical override key usage for tracking purposes
• 16 access schedules per lock; unlimited schedules in the database
• 32 holidays/vacations per lock; unlimited holidays in the database
• Guest/Visitor management with programmable expiry from 1 day to a year
• Very flexible management of Service users who have PIN only access—Service users can have either one time access only, or 1 through 96 hour expiry access, or access with no expiry
• Can quickly assign a new user to multiple doors, or assign multiple users to one door with the use of Access Groups concept, thus saving enormous data entry at the PC by the operator
• Can import and export thousands (20,000) of user profile records (names, PROX card IDs and/or PINs) from/to an external database source for managing large user profiles
• Each customer site's computer database and that in the locks and the handheld programming/auditing unit (M-Unit) are all fully protected with the site's unique internal communications key, maintained by the software for utmost data integrity and security
• Extensive Report (powered by Crystal Reports!) generation capability such as Lock Audits reports, Operator Activity at PC reports, Access Groups reports, Access Schedules reports, Users by a Door and Doors by a User reports, User ID cards reports, etc.
• Database backups can be set up to run every day at a preset time for a 7-day period as a buffer. In cases of data corruption where ‘when’ is not known, any of the previous 7-days’ files can be chosen

PC Requirements Stand Alone PC (for “Express” Install)

• MS Window’s compatible PC with minimum Pentium-III 500+MHz processor
• Minimum 1 GB of RAM
• Minimum of 4 GB of free hard disc space when using smaller SQL database
• SVGA Monitor with minimum resolution of 1024 x 768
• CD-ROM drive for software installation
• Minimum of 2 USB ports in PC to connect the Prox Enroller (for E-Plex® card locks/controllers) and the M-Unit
• One of the Microsoft Operating Systems: Windows 7, MS Windows XP Professional (SP 2 or higher), or MS Windows VISTA Home Premium or Business – 32 bit version only MS SQL Express 2005 (SP2 or higher) – supplied with Enterprise software

Networked PCs (for “Custom” Install)

• Client PC: Same requirements as Stand Alone PC above, except the MS SQL
• Server PC: Same requirements as Stand Alone above, except: Recommended 2+GB of RAM when using larger SQL database; Recommended 10+GB free hard disc space for larger SQL database
• Monitor not required
• MS Windows Server 2003 Operating System (if not using XP or VISTA)

Maintenance Unit (M-Unit) Requirements

• Standard Laptop PC: Same requirements as Stand Alone PC above
• Mini Laptop (Netbook) PC: Microsoft XP Home or higher OS and minimum 1MB of RAM, 4GB of storage memory (flash or hard-drive), 1 available USB port; wired and/or wireless LAN interface for network communication to host PC is optional
• *Pocket PC PDA (HP Models iPAQ hx2490b, iPAQ hx2490c, or iPAQ hx4700): Windows Mobile 5.0 or higher OS, with minimum 64 MB program memory and minimum 64 MB storage memory. Important: The Pocket PC PDA must have the industry standard IrDa interface compliant port and either, 1) MS ActiveSync 4.5 or higher Connectivity Software, if using Windows XP OS, or 2) MS Mobile Device Center Connectivity Software, if using Windows VISTA OS
