Ask any security expert, or industry insider which brand of door closers are the best, and you will unanimously hear the name Norton. Norton is the father of design for the door closer in America, dating back to 1880. In fact, other closer brands, are directly modeled after Lewis C. Norton's creation. Along with all of their lines of traditional surface, commercial, security, and electrified door closers, this 8000 series hold open door closer is made right here in the USA at the Norton factory in Monroe, NC. What separates Norton from the rest of the pack is the quality of their rack and pinion construction, valve and spring design, and closer fluid composition. The Norton door closer is the best selling closer, and the door closer chosen by the professionals. Think of Norton door closers as the Titleist of closer hardware. Yes, there are other options, many in fact, just as in golf balls, but when you want performance, reliability, and the mental comfort your door is going to close, every time, without fail, even in conditions where there's a spike in traffic, kids are running furiously in and out the door, or the weather takes a turn for the worst, you want the Norton 8301H door closer. The Norton 8301H hold open door closer employs a double-arm assembly, and is designed to be installed on the pull-side of the door, making it the most power-efficient application for a door closer. Please note the Norton 8301 door closer arm projects directly out from frame. You'll want to ensure safe clearance for door/frame, and/or ceiling before installing.
