Replacing the batteries in the BE365 is quite simple!
1.) Remove the two screws from the interior portion of the unit. These should be located above and below the manual knob.
2.) Remove the interior cover from the unit.
3.) Exchange the 9V battery from within the unit.
4.) Reinstall the interior cover and mounting screws.

If the lock spins take the back piece off (several screws) and you’ll see the spring. Spray WD-40 all around that spring. Put back together and locks works like new.

Have this on my airbnb entry. Can recycle codes and add and delete for tenants/workers/cleaners as needed. Has always worked well! Highly recommend.

Bought two of these for two different locations. Both failed within two years. Knob would just spin without engaging deadbolt. Buy Kwikset fully motorized for $10
more. Much better.

Have used these locks for years. Older ones were great but in the last three years the quality is terrible. Had them replaced twice but same issues every time with dead bolt not engaging. Don’t waste your money on these.

I was told when looking for a keyless entry system—This Schlage System THAT EVERY YEAR AROUND NOVEMBER OR. JUST BEFORE IT GETS TO THE COLD MONTHS… CHANGE THE BATTERY.

I bought 2 of these for my office. One of them worked about 50% of the time, the other didn’t work at all. Same problem with both, the internal mechanism would fail to engage the knob, so it would just spin.

The lock was easy to install. We’ve been using it about a month. Super convenient with kids going in and out.

Bought 2 in 2017. Loved the ease of installation and programming. Chose these as we get cold winters here and I know others with battery operated mechanics in the lock can struggle with the battery getting too cold and not having enough “power” to turn the latch. So great all the battery here does is remember codes and release the latch for you to mechanically turn, I thought it was a better choice.
First year locks did ok but year after year with any cold snap the mechanisms inside both locks will not line up when you turn the dead bolt piece to open. the code is correct but you have to turn and turn the dead bolt looking knob and it sometimes works. Feels like you’re spinning the wheel of fortune hoping it’ll catch, often requiring you to reenter the code at least once if not twice as you time out spinning through the original entry acceptance. I checked the battery, disassembled and reassembled it didn’t help. being locked out of the house in -20Celsius or colder weather waiting for a neighbor to bring a space heater to warm up the lock so that you can then unlock it certainly makes me angry when I spent over $100 on each lock.
The back door one is failing completely, even now that it is warm out it’s not locking or unlocking from the outside access. I’ll be spending my summer searching for new locks again and schlage will not likely be a first choice, as a single income person and homeowner the added expense within only 3 and half years is more than frustrating.
