  2. Great Product

Great product. I use these on 50+ rental properties. Very rarely do I have issues and when I do, Schlage customer service is very friendly! Will definitely buy in the future.

Simple, user friendly setup and operation. Only two buttons on the inside, not confusing at all.

  3. Like how it works

    Lee (verified owner)

I no longer need a key and have access to my workshop anytime. The whole family has access and no one has to go get the key and it self locking. Should have bought it sooner. Works day or night it lights up for you. Don’t need a hub to use it but it limits you but not that mush.My hub is to far away for the lock to see my wink but it does what I need it to do without the hub. I will work on that later if I see the need. My main door sees the wink different lock from Schlage and I use Alexa for that one but don’t need Alexa for this one due to having it set to self lock feature.

Excellent addition to my smart home ecosystem. Installation was easy. I was able to pair and program lock codes with no problem on my Hubitat hub. Build quality is sturdy and elegant.

Good keyless lock. Styling could be improved. Not intuitive to program via smart things hub

  6. Good, Works as expected

    Andy Gillis (verified owner)

Only reason for taking off one star was due to a minor manufacturing defect that caused the inside level to stick open. Schlage was very responsive, and even though I just asked them for a replacement part, they shipped me out a complete replacement. Very happy with Schlage’s willingness to support their product. Definitely increases my likelihood of choosing Schlage products in the future.

  7. Excellent Quality Smart Lock

    Tim (verified owner)

I bought the Schlage FE599 Z-Wave lock to replace an equivalent Yale lock that failed after only 1 1/2 years. The quality of the Schlage is much better than the Yale. Installation was very easy. The Schlage lock is compatible with Smartthings, which is what I have it paired with. I have 3 other Schlage smart locks throughout my home and have had no issues with any of them.
Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this lock.

  8. I think I got a re-packaged door lock

    Val Reyes (verified owner)

I have a good number of these locks and unlike what I received, they were undoubtedly unopened and un -assembled. Batteries for example were not in original wrapper. So, I am waiting for things to break.

I have purchased from go keyless before and did not have this doubt.

  10. Works well, not quite smart enough

    Rick Turske (verified owner)

We installed this lock with the idea it would communicate with our 2GIG security system. While it DOES talk to the panel, there is one important design flaw.
Whenever a user punches in a code on the outside keypad, the lock will unlock for 5 seconds, send the panel/module the “Accessed” signal, and then immediately lock itself. The automatic re-lock event does not broadcast to the panel/module. This is a hardware design for which there is no workaround. This means that the panel never gets the “Re-Locked” signal, which triggers the “Lock Left Unlocked” notification at the panel after 20 minutes.

Use the following steps to restore your lock to factory settings:
1.) Remove the two mounting screws on the inside of the lock
    2.) Disconnect the battery

4.) Reconnect the battery and wait for the Schlage button to stop glowing
5.) Press and hold the Schlage button until it glows green and the lock beeps

How do I add a new user code?
1.) Enter your current 6-digit programming code
    2.) Press the Schlage button
3.) Press 1 on your keypad
4.) Enter your new 4-digit user code
5.) Re-enter your new 4-digit user code to confirm it

  3. Answered by the admin

This would depend on the system that is controlling your garage door. If it is a Z-Wave enabled system, you should be able to connect this unit to the hub that is controlling your existing devices.

  4. Q Am I able to see remotely which user codes opened doors and when? answer now
Asked by Gerald S Connolly on May 11, 2019 11:17 PM
    A

If you are remotely connected via the APP you can see the audit trail of when people entered.

  5. A

No, it is only designed to connect with a Z-wave Hub like Vera.

  6. A

You can have up to 19 total users at one time which includes one master code.

  7. A

Yes, we do offer a keying service to have any new lock keyed to existing locks as long as they match the vendor and key type. Please contact our sales department to see if you can have your new locks keyed to match your existing system.

  8. A

No, you do not need to subscribe to any other service if you are already pairing this with your own hub, the locks themselves do not carry subscription costs. If you are mounting this on a door with a deadbolt we highly recommend using wrap plates or remodeler plates to cover the deadbolt hole. We do sell these on our site and we would also encourage you to speak to our qualified sales staff to ensure you choose the right items for your specific project.

  9. A

No, this lock uses a key override should the batteries die. If you need a lock with the 9v back up you can look at the FE695 series, but it is not Z-wave compatible.

  10. A

While we do not offer Iris or have any information on that system, we do offer both Nexia and Vera home hubs. Both of these hubs will allow you to get notifications of who is using the lock and they will also provide an audit trail. The Nexia system does have a monthly cost while the Vera system is free. They both will also allow you to if you change your mind in the future add in additional items such as thermostats, light control, etc.
