With Schlage Touch, no key means there’s nothing to lose, nothing to fiddle with, and—for intruders—nothing to pick.  All in a slim profile that’s every bit as sleek as it is strong.  This allows for a clean fit between the front door and screen door.  New touchscreen technologies don’t leave a trail of fingerprints, and let you punch in your code when it’s raining or you’re wearing gloves.  The batteries last so long you’ll forget it uses them, and best news yet, it’s an addition that makes your home stand out, and keeps kids and mom safe.  When you take out the key, it’s amazing what all you can add.  Along with no more keys, there is a lower price thanks to the new lighting design.  Schlage just made secure more affordable and longer lasting.  If you've been on the fence about going keyless, Schlage just brought out the product to make up your mind to go for it.  Along with safety and convenience, strong has a name.

Customer Questions & Answers

  1. Q How do you reset the lock to change the code? answer now
Asked by Richard on February 4, 2020 7:51 PM
    Answered by the admin

Use the following steps to restore your lock to factory settings:
1.) Remove the two mounting screws on the inside of the lock
    2.) Disconnect the battery
3.) Press and release the Schlage button
4.) Reconnect the battery and wait for the Schlage button to stop glowing
5.) Press and hold the Schlage button until it glows green and the lock beeps!

Once complete, your lock will be back to its factory default code and settings.

  2. Answered by the admin

This typically is a clear indicator that the handing of the lock is backward. This means that your lock thinks it is installed on a right-hand door when it is actually installed on a left-hand door or vice versa. As this is an installation issue, you will need to remove the lock from the door to rectify this issue. When reinstalling the unit, you will want to ensure that your deadbolt is retracted (not extended) and that the manual knob of the lock is in a vertical position.

  3. Q Why does the outside lock spin loosely before unlocking? answer now
Asked by Phyllis on December 16, 2019 8:52 AM
    Answered by the admin

The manual knob will spin until a code is entered. At that time, the motor will move the solenoid into place and allow the knob to open the door.

  4. Answered by the admin

To lock the door from the outside, simply press the Schlage button at the top of the unit.

  5. Q Do all touchpad models have multiple codes capability? answer now
Asked by masone on October 24, 2019 9:54 AM
    Answered by the admin

This will depend on the model and the manufacturer of the unit. For Schlage models, all of their units typically support multiple user codes.

  6. Q How do you change the battery? answer now
Asked by Peggy on October 3, 2019 5:04 PM
    Answered by the admin

To change the battery on this lock, you will want to remove the black battery cover from the top of the inside portion. Once removed, simply disconnect and exchange the 9V battery inside before reinstalling the battery cover. It is recommended to exchange the batteries quickly and to ensure no keys on the keypad are pressed while the battery is disconnected.

  7. Answered by the admin

Rather than buttons, these two black pegs are actually a 9 volt tap for emergency situations. If your battery happens to lose its charge, you can hold a 9 volt battery to these contacts to power the lock and allow you to enter your code for entry.

  8. Q Can Alexa be used to open this as well? answer now
Asked by Jimmy DaSilva on March 21, 2019 6:05 AM
    A

No, this is not a home automation lock. You would need to have a lock that connects with a home automation hub such as our Schlage/Vra Plus kits. We would recommend that you speak with our home automation specialist team to ensure that you pick the best products for your home.

  9. Q Does lock keep track of who uses it to get in? answer now
Asked by HALDING RIOS on January 27, 2019 7:38 AM
    A

While this lock does not have that feature there are kits available for Home Automation that pair with other deadbolt locks that will allow an audit trail. Our Z-wave Starter Kit with the Vera Edge hub and Yale will allow you to accomplish this feature. You will need to have high-speed internet in the home in order to make it work.

  10. A

No, this is a standard keypad lock. For a lock that works with Vera you need a Z-wave capable lock such as the BE468.
