Looking to use voice commands to lock your door with Amazon Alexa?  Simply pair the lock to Vera and then enable the Vera skill inside the Alexa app. Speak “Alexa, lock the front door” to your Amazon Echo or Dot, and Vera will lock the door.  Cool part is you can add electronic switches, Z-Wave LED bulbs, remote control outlets and other devices to create groups in Alexa for automating certain routines you manually do every day, like turning off the lights, locking the doors, and closing the garage when you go to bed at night.

    Almost what I wanted

The Vera Bridge and Yale keyless lock work well easy to program and set up. I get text messages when someone unlocks or opens the door. What I don’t get, but would be easy for the vendor to program is who opens the door based on their unique combination. Very disappointed.

Just finished installation of the touch screen lock. It is a nice lock but was very hard to understand and there is a clip that I had taken out and still don’t know if it should be put back in. The direction about RED is facing up is wrong, there is no way you can turn it facing up and the black was facing down when it came. Took three hour to install with another helper.

The touch screen deadbolt lock works as expected. Installation is straight forward, but takes time. It is very convenient, and links to existing security system seamlessly (requires knowledge of Z-Wave programming). GoKeyless technical information is excellent. I would not hesitate to purchase other home automation products from them.

I totally recommend this starter kit, it was shipped immediately after I placed the order. There were a few installation problems, I initially set the system up at home, which seemed to go smoothly and both the Yale lock and Vera worked as they should, I then took the Yale lock and Vera to my place of business, this is where the problems started, firstly I could not access Vera from my computer, it took a week of emails between myself and [email protected] and then a phone call from their tech guy, who immediately took control of my computer and fixed the problem within minutes. The second problem was with the Yale door lock, their documentation did not explain clearly about “Handing” (on an instruction in the menu, the lock automatically finds out if the door locks on the left or the right), a call to the Yale tech took care of this problem. Overall I am very pleased with both products, programming the Yale lock via Vera is extremely easy, for me this is the best starter kit for people who want to get up and running with Z Wave.

Customer Questions & Answers

Yes, it can be used in a commercial setting but we only recommend that it be used on an office door and with light usage as it is not a commercially graded lock and will not hold up under heavy use.
  2. Answered by the admin
Yes, you can pair the locks with the Wink controller. As we do not sell the Wink hub we are not aware of the capabilities or how it interacts with the lock.
  3. Answered by the admin
At this time there is not a known maximum number and we have projects that involve over 100 of these units.

You would not be able to use the Vera application to control your hub since your internet would be down. You would, however, be able to manually program the lock at the keypad since you are still at home.
