What others are saying

  1. Great lock but NetCodes let it down badly & cause frustration for Airbnb guests

Fond of the lock, owning seven with four in use. One on the main door had battery issues, lasting 1-2 weeks instead of 8-12 months. Challenges with NetCodes for Airbnb due to design flaw—holding the star button too long or delays result in failed entries, causing guest frustration. Despite key fobs and cards, NetCodes were preferred. Shared issues with Steve at, seeking a firmware update for resolution. The current problems affect our Airbnb rating, impacting check-in reviews negatively.

  2. Good door lock

    Jerry (verified owner)

We have two of these door locks at entrances to our building. One is an older model, which is installed at the office entrance and has worked well for many years. The other is at the entrance to our shipping receiving area. We have had to replace this one recently and a few times in the past. It does get a lot of use and some abuse from truck drivers. I need to order parts to repair the old one.

It was fairly easy to setup and the free app is very nice. We are pleased with the Codelocks CL5510 and plan to buy a second one.

  6. Great product, Easy to use

    joey espinoza (verified owner)

This is a solid option for people who want easy to use and install access options. I got the keycards with it and it’s simple to program, keeps a log of who uses what keycard etc. I like this option because it’s simply battery powered and doesn’t go down when power is out. The more expensive options require electricians and wiring etc but this was perfect for me.

Customer Questions & Answers

  1. A

Yes, but to be able to do so you will need to setup a Wi-Fi gateway with the lock to be able to control it while not on site. Without the gateway you can only control it while you're within range of the lock.

  2. A

Yes, the Codelocks CL5510 is available as a Panic Access kit, however it is not listed on our website. You may call us at 937-247-9327 and one of our sales representatives can have it ordered for you.

  3. A

This model will only support 13.56 MHz smart card credentials using the MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Desfire, or MIFARE Ultralite formats.

  4. A

Low battery can affect communication to the lock and the ability to lock or unlock. I would use the key override to access the inside and change the batteries first and see if that makes a difference.

  5. A

A Codelocks Wi-Fi gateway would need to be set up for each unit to be able to control the device outside of the BLE range. There is no subscription needed to use the Wi-Fi gateway with the K3 Connect app.

  6. A

The smartcards are reusable and can be disabled or assigned to another user at any time. Any card entries on the lock will appear in the audit log when a report is created. The user for the card can be created through the mobile app but you will need to be at the lock to scan the card to complete the enrollment.

  7. A

The lock can communicate to your mobile device via Bluetooth! The app will allow you to enroll users and phone credentials whenever your phone is within range of the lock. Wi-Fi will only be needed if you are wanting the ability to control the lock from any location.

  8. A

Yes, you can program this lock for a passage system where it does not require a code.

  9. A

To change the default master code, please follow the steps below! Please keep in mind that the master code must always be 8 digits long.

    1. On the lock, enter #12345678
    2. Press 01
    3. Enter your new 8-digit master code
    4. Re-enter your 8-digit master code

To Add a new User Code:

    1. Enter # then your 8-digit master code
    2. Press 20
    3. Press 1
    4. Enter the new 4-digit user code
  10. A

The CL5510 only secures one side of an doorway. You would always have free egress from the interior. The exterior would require either a key, pin code, a card, or phone access.
