Looking to use voice commands to lock your door with Amazon Alexa?  Simply pair the Kwikset wireless lock to the VeraPlus controller and then enable the Vera skill inside the Alexa app. Speak “Alexa, lock the front door” to your Amazon Echo or Dot, and Vera will lock the door.  Cool part is you can add electronic switches, Z-Wave LED bulbs, remote control outlets and other devices to create groups in Alexa for automating certain routines you manually do every day, like turning the lights off and locking the doors when you go to bed at night.

Great Product but OFTEN Requires Rehanding and Reset

    KEITH ECKERMANN (verified owner)

These 916 smartcode deadbolts were a great upgrade to my previous 909’s but unfortunately, they both share the same problem. They get to a point where the must be reset or have the handing process completed very often. I installed (4) of these in our home replacing the aforementioned deadbolts. Installation is smooth and easy, all components fit well and programming is very straightforward for standard set-up. It can be a bit cumbersome if you choose to use a master code and many code variations below this but for a homeowner with limited traffic by others needing a specific code, it’s not worth it for my situation. Again unfortunately, I’ve encountered several occasions where the rehanding process on these was required and the lock will not work when this is due, it simply beeps and flashes a check mark and “X” on alternate sides of the keypad. Regarding Kwikset’s customer service, it’s great – once you reach someone, they operate in the stone ages where you must call the 800-number to get a rep to do anything for you as email contact / messaging via the Kwikset website gets you no where. A simple warranty exchange or question could take hours to complete. 5-stars would be here if this was not an ongoing issue.

Customer Questions & Answers

  1. Answered by the admin When it comes to Vivint it is best to consult their communication specialist to ensure that you have the correct lock for your application. Most smart home technology runs off of Zigbee or Z-wave communication. Here at GoKeyless we sell our devices on the Z-wave platform. It is important to find out if you need either a Zigbee or Z-wave lock for your environment. Once that is defined, if your provider tells you Z-Wave, please use the lock below as it is the one used in all the marketing material and will work with their app.
  2. Answered by the admin

This lock has an adjustable backset for 2 3/8 or 2 3/4.
