Customer Questions & Answers
- Q Can user access be controlled remotely? Can I setup users in the cloud or just on the keypad? Can... answer nowAsked by April 26, 2021 11:17 PMonA
This will entirely depend on the Z-Wave system that you have the lock connected to. Without a Z-Wave controller, the lock can only be programmed directly at the keypad and you will not have any remote access.
If the lock is connected to a Z-Wave hub such as Vera, the software that is used to control the hub should give you the ability to add/remove codes remotely, lock/unlock the door, and set scheduled actions without having to be onsite with the lock. These hubs typically require some form of internet access so that you can communicate with the lock from anywhere.

Taylor H –
First off, product is installed and working great. It’s in a high use area and has been paired with an Aeotec SmartThings hub. We’ve currently got about 50 active codes and I can see who is entering and at what time. We paired this with a SmartThings camera and now we can make sure the people we’ve assigned the codes to are the ones using them. This is all done for free through the SmartThings app. Wouldn’t suggest it for anyone who doesn’t consider themselves very handy. If you’ve installed doorknobs/locks or something of equivalent difficulty you’ll probably be fine. The z-wave/hub setup was pretty straight forward as well.
I removed one star for the missing installation instructions. Everything was going good. I got the entire thing installed and the actual lock wouldn’t work. Realized there was a step not listed where you have to disassemble the whole set-up before installation and rotate a lever to engage the ability to use the actual physical lock.
