With their new Steel Hawk, Adams Rite has effectively combined the electric lock and deadlatch into one device to do away with need for using an electric strike or maglock when electrifying an aluminum entrance door. The Steel Hawk reshapes the way we look at providing access control through this type of opening. With a patented two way winged technology, new design, and reinvented handing, this deadlatch adapts to any door swing, and fits into the pocket of installed 4900, 4500, and 4700 Adams Rite deadlatches. It's compatible with the existing strike, handles, paddles, and levers, keeping hardware costs at a minimum. It saves on installation time and expense, and serves to extend the operating life of the door because of its location on the door compared to mags. Once you have it out of the box, just install it, and hook up power, and that's it. The 'hawk' will take care of the rest.
