The CompX ecoForce is a versatile mechanical push button cabinet lock available in a variety of configurations to fit any project. EcoForce locks come in both recess and surface mount options, with three cylinder length sizes to fit a wide range of material thickness. SlamCAM models lets users simply close the door or drawer to automatically self-lock without having to manually return the knob to the locked position. Locks hold a single one to five digit code and allows users to press up to five digits simultaneously. The unique “X”-shaped key and keyway prevents unauthorized key duplication as well as provides backup access when a code is forgotten.

The irony is that when I pulled it out of the box I was in love with how hefty and high quality it felt. Then I saw the actually latch part and I became a little less excited. The problem with this is that the latch portion which is going to keep secure whatever you are trying to lock up is made of plastic and will definitely break under stress. I am not sure why they couldn’t have made it out of metal, that would have made this thing much more impenetrable.
It’s also ironic how expensive this thing is and yet they don’t send a key with the lock for free.
